Mumbai Terror - Does human life have any meaning at all..

The Mumbai Terror attacks have shaken up the entire nation. Its the worst attack the country has ever witnessed. We can never imagine that these terrorists could kill innocent public without any specific motive. The country witnessed the vandalism and the barbaric acts of these terrorists. Innumberable lives lost. One could have never even imagined in their wildest dreams that this would happen. The survivors are traumatized. The families who lost their loved ones were shocked. They all have their own stories to tell. I saw the news of a 2yr old kid who lost his entire family on the day of his birthday. That news has shaken me up. My heart goes to all the families/friends of the ones who have lost thier lives.
Is there no value for human lives. There is so much of depression around the world. There is a lot of grief and anger amongst the people. Will there ever be an end to this inhuman act. Will we be ever able to live with a feeling of security. Today there is no gurantee that one would come back alive once he/she leaves home for work, school or anyother work outside home. So much of insecured feeling all around. Im anguished to see all this around. Will we ever be able to live in peace and harmony???

Amidst all this we should not forget our brave soliders and security men who risked their lives and fought bravely aganist the barbaric terrorists. Some of them even lost their lives. They laid their life in the line of service. They are the true Heroes of our nation. I salute them.

Finally i would hope that the politicians would act with maturity in these times of grief and not politicize the issue. Hope they would work towards making our lives more secure.
I want to vote to those who can make our lives more secure and not to those who would play the blame game.

CITIBANK - Too Large to Fail OR Too Large to Sell

Folks,

The recent developments with Citi Group, one of the largest banks in the world seems to shaky with over 20 billion dollars of losses over past several quarters and recently over 50,000 job cuts announced. It makes us wonder where is it heading to. Are there companies who are willing to buy out some of citi groups business or will the government have to bail it out.

As a corporations Citi group is too large to fail completely. At the same time its too large for other companies to buy. Do companies in the market have so much liquidity? I doubt.

The only way out I see is the bail out by the government. But will that also help. The stocks of the companies which the US govenment has bailed out continue to fall. People are selling their stocks despite government buying these compaines. So where is citibank heading to. Will it become like another Lehman Brother story or will it manage to sustain itself during these rough times.... Let me know your thoughts...

By the way what's common between General Motors, Chrysler and Ford apart from they being automobile companies . Wait for my next blog on the Automobiles story.. Until then keep guessing..

Solution to the current Global Economic Crisis

Hi,
I have been closely following the news on the US Subprime crisis which has led to the Global ecomic crisis and slow down in the global markets. There have been the biggest brains working around the globe to solve this crisis. Well last night I was discussing this topic with my family and thought there there can be a simple solution to this. This is purely my personal opinion and may be I can be wrong in many ways. However I thought it could be worth atleast sharing my thoughts..
Here is my solution to the Global economic crisis.
Firstly, what created the problem. Sub prime losses leading to land values in US shrink,Thus creating a major liqudity crisis globally.
My solution : Open up the US real estate market to the outside countries and allow people to invest in Land in US. Create policy and governance around it to regualte and monitor the policy.
Eg : US government allows retail investors outside US to invest in US. Supose US government does that then eg : an Indian can purchase land/house in US for 1200 sqft for 1 crore rupees which is equal to the price in an upmarket area in any of the metro cities in India. Why will people not purchase. Its a very luctrative offer for people to invest in US. Just imagine how many people (retail investors) from various countries would want to invest in US real estate market. In less than a month's time the demand for US real estate would increase substancially, liquity will flow into the market, and the economy is back on track.
There are potential challenges too like security, laws of the land etc.. But by having right policies and governance around this proposal , we can come out of this major global crisis..
This is my personal opinion. I may be wrong and could not have looked into other aspects as well. But I thought it would atleast be worth sharing my thought.

Let me know your comments/opinion regarding this..
